Following the successful conclusion of a 5 years joint venture, Albion Water is now fully owned by Wessex Water Limited.

Licensed to provide water services by the Water Services Regulation Authority (Ofwat) in 1999,  Albion Water was the first new entrant to compete against the monopoly water companies in England and Wales.
